If anybody out there has any extra Art pieces or art supplies they would like to donate to the free little art gallery or if you have an art class at your school that may be looking for some sort of fun project we would love some new fun Art donations. If you’re in Hernando, Mississippi and you dig art, stop at the new Hippie FLAG (Free Little Art Gallery) at 2595 McIngvale Rd. This far-out community art jam is crafted by the groovy crew at Hippie Eats, so when you swing by the gallery, you can totally satisfy your munchies, too.

Hey man, it’s all about the vibe, you dig? Anyone can drop their art in the gallery, no matter their age or groove. It’s all about sharing the love that flows inside you, ‘cause everyone’s got something beautiful to express, ya know? Chill out, browse the gallery, and if a piece speaks to your soul, take it home to shine on your fridge, wear it, or just let it flow, baby! Free, man, all free!

So, what exactly is a Free Little Art Gallery..?

A Free Little Art Gallery is like a Little Free Library, but for tiny artworks!

The art and galleries come in all types, colors, shapes, and locations, but they’re all small…and free.

Some are “take one-leave one”, others are “take one and/or leave one”, but all are available to just view art as well.

From A Free Little Art Gallery — “FLAG” for short — is a community project encouraging everyone to create and share art. If you see something in the gallery you like, take it home. Or create something you want to share, and leave it for someone else to take away and love.

An important difference between Little Free Libraries and FLAGs is that people who put a book into a Little Free Library, generally didn’t write the book themselves. FLAGs are about encouraging people to create.

BEACHWOOD ARTS COUNCIL (Free Little Art Gallery)

Once I get done with my art for the upcoming Memphis Monster Market I’ll be working on some art to drop off to the Hippie FLAG here- will start off with a few sketchcards, some mini-canvases, MSCA zines, and stickers. I’m sure I’ve got a few art books I could gift to it as well.

We’re looking at doing another Sat-Art-Day in November. We’ll have lots of art supplies, blank sketchcards, and more for anyone who wants to draw anything to donate to the free little art gallery. I can also pick up any items at our next dinner meeting at Garibaldi’s in October.

In addition to the FLAG at Mrs. Hippies, I noticed a Little Free Libraries outside of Lost Pizza Co. in Hernando, too. It’s located next door to the DeSoto Arts Council off Courthouse Square and Hwy. 51. I love their Popeye pizza, wings, and their cinnamon bread sticks..! I plan on dropping off some books the next time Nicki and I visit.
