New “Drawing Funny” Episodes Featuring MidSouth Mega Con & Memphis Libraries Comic Con
Hey, gang- lots have happened since our last update like the MidSouth Mega Con, the Memphis Libraries Comic Con, and our MSCA monthly dinner gathering at Garibaldi’s Pizza. And there’s lots more happening the next few weeks, including the Anime Blues Con downtown this weekend and the Metropolis Superman Celebration the following weekend. Continue reading
May 5th – Happy National Cartoonists Day!

May 5th is National Cartoonist Day, a world-wide celebration of cartoonists and their work. The National Cartoonist Society declared the date in the 1990s to promote support for the cartooning industry, and to recognize the impact they have had on society. The establishment of the Day was ‘spearheaded by co-chairpersons Polly Keener and Ken Alvine of the National Cartoonists Day Committee.’
MSCA May Days & More Event News
Hey gang- well, this spring has already been busy. Last weekend Nicki and I attended the Earth Day celebration here in Hernando. It was the first Hernando Farmers Market of the year on the Courthouse Square, and the DeSoto Arts Council had their spring art fest going on there as well. The weather was mostly overcast, but mild temps most of the time we were there and a decent breeze blowing, so it was a very pleasant way to spend a Saturday. Continue reading

Sorry for not getting a mid-month email about (thus making this one long), but we have several bits of information that can be money-making opportunities, hang-outs, and more. PLEASE LET ME KNOW if you can come to events that I need dedicated folks for upcoming events so I can add you to the list. If you have responded, I won’t need another reply. I do need at least 6 of us involved for an event to succeed.
